IAmReady

If you are a Victim or Survivor of child sexual abuse or exploitation and would like to understand what review options may be available, IAmReady can help.

“IAmReady.org.uk” offers victims and survivors tailored pathways to specialist advice and guidance depending on their individual needs and requirements, to help them make informed decisions about their individual circumstances.

Designed in collaboration with victims and survivors of child sexual abuse and exploitation, the new website – for the first time - provides consistent, trauma-informed and accessible information in one place.

Users are able to move through the website at their own pace, with natural breaks and options to save their progress and return whenever they feel ready. Independent support from specialist organisations, Independent Sexual Violence Advisers (ISVAs) and victim support services are also provided throughout.

As well as advice, guidance and support, the website also offers victims and survivors the opportunity to request a review of their case, if it was previously closed as a result of a Crown Prosecution Service or local police force decision, either through the Victims’ Right to Review (VRR) or the Child Sexual Abuse Review Panel (CSARP), and also whether it falls within the scope of Operation Beaconport.

Set up in November 2025 following the publication of Baroness Casey’s audit of group-based child sexual abuse and exploitation, Operation Beaconport is reviewing hundreds of cases where a decision to take no further action was made between 1 January 2010 and 31 March 2025.

If a victim and survivor wishes to submit information about a case, involving group-based offending, that was previously closed, this request will be received and reviewed by specially trained officers from Operation Beaconport. Crucially, anyone submitting information about a case will have the option to receive updates regarding their request.

Independent support is available throughout, including from specialist organisations, Independent Sexual Violence Advisers (ISVAs) and victim support services.

By answering a small number of questions, IAmReady helps Victims and Survivors understand what information, support and review options may be available based on their circumstances.

Users are guided through a series of sensitively designed questions and can move through the process at their own pace. People can take breaks and engage with the process in a way that feels right for them.

Depending on the information provided, this could include:

  • Access to specialist support services

  • Information about reporting abuse to police

  • Victims' Right to Review

  • The Child Sexual Abuse Review Panel (CSARP)

  • Information about Operation Beaconport and whether a case may fall within the scope of the operation

"Victims and Survivors deserve access to clear information, compassionate support and the opportunity to make informed decisions about what feels right for them.
“For many Victims and Survivors, questions can remain long after an investigation has been closed. Finding information or understanding where to turn next can feel overwhelming.
“IAmReady has been developed to help people access information and support whenever they feel ready to do so. Most importantly, it gives Victims and Survivors greater choice and control, allowing them to decide how and when they engage.
“Both IAmReady and Operation Beaconport have been developed with Victims and Survivors at their heart. Victims and Survivors have played an important role in the development of the website, helping to ensure it reflects the needs and priorities of the people it is designed to support. This reflects our commitment to treating every Victim and Survivor with dignity, compassion and respect."
